WORKING/HERDING

KIRK is a beautiful, 10-mo. old black and white rough-coated male Border
Collie. He is purbred but has no papers. He was raised by an inattentive
owner and was being allowed to run loose in a rural area. Kirk is very
smart and very energetic. He found lots of things to do on his own - like
chase cars and herd the neighbors'  cattle and goats. He seems to have
natural ability to work stock but needs some training.

Kirk is really sweet and gentle, he loves to be petted and touched all
over. He is learning how to walk on a leash and he really likes having a
cozy place and his own blanket and crate to sleep in.

Kirk is very affable and easygoing with all other dogs and enjoys playing
with other dogs who want to play with him. He is initially shy and
submissive with strangers but warms up very nicely. He shows absolutely
no sign of fear aggression or any sort of aggression. With a little
longer in foster care and with patient, understanding new owners, Kirk
will be able to blossom into a GREAT dog and be able to show his full
potential!

Kirk is agile and strong and, with training, has the potential to make a
very good prospect for agility and/or herding. Kirk is in foster care in
central Kentucky...please e-mail knollviewe@juno.com for more info. and
an adoption application.
